SIMPLY GRAMMATICAL🤗

ENGLISH:correlation between Tense &voice:
The normal trend of teaching Tenses and corresponding Passive Voice construction is one of the greatest causes of confusion among the beginners. While teaching them Tenses or rather while introducing the concept for the first time they must be acquainted with the Tense in Passive Voice .Often ,the same child who can identify the tense of any sentence in active voice is hardly able to understand why he was never taught some of them, failing to cognize that it is the 'Voice ' which has changed. The confusion arises about the key words like 'have','has' and' had 'which are taken to be the key words of 'perfect' tenses .Here is an effort from my part ,hope it would help the confused learners.

  1. Simple Present tense:This may involve a transitive or intransitive verb.(*the children are advised to first clear their concept of VERBS before learning tense because otherwise they will be like a cooking student who learns how to cook before learning how to ignite the stove )The part of speech-the only one that can help you identify the tense is none but the Verb.Transitive verbs carry an 'object' intransitive verbs don't,e.g:1)The baby sleeps.
  2. He laughs.
  3. She sneezes.
  4. You jump....Now don't think these aren't sentences ..A sentence should have minimum two words -a subject (Noun or Pronoun) and a verb(words denoting actions or state of being)
  5. In the above examples we see that it's quite funny to think of adding an object.
